Home Visiting
Our Home Visiting Service provides visits by trained and vetted volunteers to members in their own homes. The service is very flexible and is adapted to each individual member’s needs. Examples of the type of help given include taking people for short walks, assisting with forms and general paperwork, sorting/reading mail, tidying kitchen cupboards, writing Christmas cards and general friendship. The service aims to improve the quality of life for people enabling them to maintain their independence.
Younger members can also access this service upon request. In recent months we have enabled several younger people on ‘Direct Payments’ to successfully appeal against their awards, and to achieve significant increases in the amounts they receive. We are always happy to try and help others in this way.
