Transcription

Our Transcription Service provides information in an accessible format for visually impaired people. Our team of reader volunteer readers transcribe to audio a variety of local publications and we can also translate items to Braille.

How we can help you.

Our Transcription Service....

In Dorset today there are an estimated 20,000 people living with severe sight loss.

Are your written publications accessible to them?

If they aren’t, not only are you missing the opportunity to promote your services to that substantial group of people, but you also risk being in breach of your obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act.

Our Transcription Service takes your publications and converts them to a variety of formats that make them accessible to people with sight loss.

This includes various audio formats, large print and Braille.

Information in audio format is also often easier to access for people with a range of other disabilities
