In Memoriam Donations

It is so hard to lose a loved one. A wonderful way to honour a special person is to give to charity in the name of the departed, and in our case giving to The Dorset Blind Association in someone's honour is a way to let the lost loved one's spirit of caring and compassion continue to live.

Many families, friends and supporters of DBA request that monies be donated to the charity rather than, for example, flowers at a funeral. This is a very personal choice and we thank family and friends for supporting us in this way.

These gifts allow the work of DBA to continue and enable us to provide our services.

So how do you donate?

The funeral director(s) will look after all cash and cheques given by family and friends in memory. Normally there is a collection plate at the back of the church or crematorium, but sometime there are envelopes provided by the funeral directors. Any cheques should be made payable to ‘Dorset Blind Association’.

Cheques can be sent to the funeral directors by those not able to attend the funeral service. For this reason donations can take up to 3 months to be sent to the charity. A letter of acknowledgement is sent out to the next of kin at this point.

Cheques can also be sent straight to DBA, or you can donate through this website. You can also “Gift-Aid” your donation, so do please let us know if this is your wish.
