Volunteer Opportunities - One hour per week can make a difference
Volunteering opportunities are available on a regular or one-off basis. In general we need volunteers for:-
Home Visiting – visit one of our members in their homes to help with reading and writing mail, accompany on a walk, or just have a chat.
Can be as simple as a monthly visit. No personal care, cleaning or shopping
Transport – volunteer drivers are needed for our various local social clubs and one off requests. Mileage allowance paid. Commitment can be as little as monthly.
Resource Centre - help us out in our resource centre. Are you happy to answer the telephone? General office support. Afternoons preferred.
Social Clubs – we organise various clubs from book clubs and activity clubs (e.g. bowling, dancing.) Helping can be as simple as making tea or guiding someone to a seat.
Poole Hard of Hearing Club – also run by the DBA. Meets 1st and 3rd Tuesday in the month. If you can talk clearly, enjoy card games or general helping, please contact Helen Basson on 01929 481110
Fundraising – various opportunities available from collections, helping to manage a stall, run your own coffee morning etc.
